The first H1N1 swine flu death in the USA is being reported from Texas. ***Update: It appears that the child perished in Houston, Texas. It is also appearing that Germany is pretty hard hit as well. We will keep you posted.

Government officials have officially confirmed that a 23 month old child has succumbed early Wednesday to the swine flu. No other details are available at this time. This is the first reported death outside of Mexico, which is the country hardest hit by the influenza outbreak.

It is reported that US has seen thus far 65 cases, nearly all of them mild, as Dr. Dean Edell has commented earlier in the week.

Some bloggers are reporting that the best defense against the swine flu is limiting as much contact with people as possible.
