Texas School Shuts Down:Swine Flu
Canyon Creek Elementary Shuts Down
At about 2 pm Monday, 4/27/09 Canyon Creek Elementary school shut down due to a student testing positive for swine flu. At least 2 other students at the school were thought to have contracted the disease as well.
Spokesman Tim Clark said the district would evaluate the situation at the end of the week to determine if school will resume next week. Meanwhile, he said the school would receive a thorough cleaning and disinfecting.This brings the number of confirmed cases in Dallas county to 3.
Dallas school district spokeswoman Sandra Guerrero said…“If there are students who present any fever and cough, they’re going to be sent home and will remain at home until the symptoms disappear,”.
