Save Money and Remove 1.2 Million Autos from the Roads ?

By admin • January 26th, 2009

Does it seem far fetched to do something, if everyone did it, to have the cumulative effect that the environmental effect would be like removing 1.2 million Autos from the U.S. roads? Imagine saving electricity, every single day his year, and also saving the environment.

Here is the quote, and it is a stand alone statement btw, there is no other information attached to this statement.

Does it seem far fetched to do something, if everyone did it, to have the cumulative effect that the environmental effect would be like removing 1.2 million Autos from the U.S. roads?

“Here is a fact that may surprise you: If every U.S. household makes their next light an Energy Star, the environmental benefit would be equivalent to removing 1.2 million cars from the road for one year!
So this year, participate in Change a Light, Change the World”.

Well, listen to this. I personally haven’t done the math, but I got this quote from an energy utility website. I hardly have the time to search it down, but, I will give the link and where the idea was gotten was The EPA. So, is there anyone out there that is familiar with this site, or what precisely it is referring to?

I would like to know how much environmental pollution we are saving and in what form. What would happen if every year everyone in the USA did this? Over 10 years would we be saving the pollution from 12 million cars?

Please respond with a comment below, especially if you have any idea what this quote is really referring to. In the mean time I will email the site and try to get an answer.
