Cheap Houston Electric Rates

There are several different fixed electricity rate terms to choose from for the Houston Texas area. You can pick from 1 year fixed electric rates, 2 year, and 3 year fixed rates. Right now the 1 year fixed electric rate is the cheapest but sometimes when the commodities energy futures markets change the longer term rates become cheaper then the shorter term rates. Because a long term Houston electric rate is more expensive you can expect the futures market speculators believe electric rates will be up in the short term and down in the long term.
